Project Actions Benefits and Use Cases
Managing projects effectively is a cornerstone of successful operations, and Foresight Connect offers a suite of project actions to streamline this process. From creating new projects to duplicating existing ones, updating project details, and closing or deleting completed or unnecessary projects, these tools are designed to give managers full control over project data and timelines. By leveraging these options, managers can save time, maintain data accuracy, and ensure that their projects align with organizational goals. Whether adjusting details mid-project or cleaning up unnecessary records, these functionalities enhance operational efficiency and project management clarity.

Color Coding | Managing the color coding of your projects allows you to efficiently report on the projects you manage. Copying Projects
We've introduced the Duplicate Project option to help you work faster when the details of another project you’re creating are similar.
You can find the Copy Project option in the Header of the Project Profile.
Below, we describe the complete path:
Log in to the Manager Role Account ➡ Go to the Projects List Tab ➡ Click the Project Name ➡ Click Copy Project button in the Project’s Profile header |
Next, the Copy Project pop-up modal will open, where you can decide which project data you want to copy and from which dates.
When copying a project, you need to make the following decisions:
- Project Name: Define the name for the duplicate project.
-
Data to Include: Decide which elements to copy:
- Assignments: Should task allocations be duplicated?
- Demands: Do you want to include role and resource requirements?
- Overheads: Should general project costs be copied?
- Start Date: Choose whether to include all data or set a specific start date for the duplicate project.
These decisions allow you to tailor the new project to match your current needs while preserving relevant data.
Closing Projects
Sometimes, projects are completed and closed earlier than initially planned. For this purpose, the Close Project option is available in the Header of the Project Profile.
Below, we describe the complete path:
Log in to the Manager Role Account ➡ Go to the Projects List Tab ➡ Click the Project Name ➡ Click Close Project button in the Project Profile header |
Next, the Close Project pop-up modal will open, where you can decide what to do with the project data about changing its end date:
When closing a project, you need to make the following decisions:
- Set New Project End Date: Define the new project's end date to finalize its timeline.
-
Data to Remove: Choose which data will be cut and deleted after the selected new project’s end date:
- Assignments: Remove all task allocations.
- Input Hours: Delete hours logged for the project.
- Demands: Erase role and resource requirements.
- Overheads: Remove general project costs.
- Project Status: If no data is selected for removal, the project status will automatically change to "Closed".
- Confirmation: Type "DELETE" in the provided field to confirm the closure.
These steps ensure a clean project closure while giving you control over the data to be retained or removed.
Deleting Projects
Sometimes, a project is created by mistake, or you may want to cancel it before it starts generating any costs or revenue. In such cases, the ideal solution is to delete it. The Delete Project option is available in the Header of the Project Profile:
Below, we describe the complete path:
Log in to the Manager Role Account ➡ Go to the Projects List Tab ➡ Click the Project Name ➡ Click the Delete Project button in the Project Profile header |
The Delete Project option removes all project data, ensuring that no traces of it remain anywhere in the system.
