Benefits and Uses of Data Fields

Data Fields are a centralized feature within the system that enables efficient management of various categories of data. This functionality allows you to predefine staffer experience levels using terminology specific to your organization, specify employee statuses, and create a list of clients. These are just examples—Data Fields offer even more possibilities to customize and organize your data. You can streamline project tracking, improve resource allocation, and enhance reporting accuracy by aligning the system's structure with your company’s unique needs. This centralized and customizable approach ensures that Foresight’s workspace integrates seamlessly with the vocabulary and processes your organization relies on, fostering better collaboration and operational efficiency.

Required Permissions

You need a general access to the Manager role first:

Additionally, to manage Data Fields in the organization, Managers require separate permissions for each of their categories. Below, you will find a summary of the permissions for all categories. 

Data Fields Permissions

Manage Skill List

Grants permission to add, edit, or remove skills (e.g., technical, languages) for the organization.

Manage Time Off Types

Allows you to add, edit, or remove types of time off (e.g., vacation, sick leave, sabbatical) for the organization.

Manage Seniorities Type Grants permission to add, edit, or remove seniority levels (e.g., junior, senior) for the organization.
Manage Default Role List Allows users to add, edit, or remove default roles (e.g., Project Manager, Designer) for the organization.
Manage Department List Grants permission to add, edit, or remove departments (e.g., IT, Creative) for the organization.
Manage Cost Centers Type Allows users to add, edit, or remove cost center types for the organization.
Manage Status List Grants permission to add, edit, or remove employee statuses (e.g., active, on leave) for the organization.
Manage Clients List Allows users to add, edit, or remove clients for the organization.
Manage Current Status List Allows users to add, edit, or remove project statuses (e.g., in progress, completed) for the organization.
Manage Type List Grants permission to add, edit, or remove project types (e.g., full project, service offering) for the organization.

Navigating to the Data Fields

To start managing Data Fields in your organization, follow this path: 

Log in to the Manager Role in Foresight ➡ Go to the My Company Tab - Select the Data Fields category you need to configure
